Cold weather shelters opening this weekend
Ahead of more extreme cold this weekend, warming centers on the Coast are opening again this weekend.
Harrison County’s shelters at the Kenny Fournier Multipurpose Center and Salvation Army Center of Hope will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Kenny Fournier shelter will open at 4:30 p.m. The Center of Hope opens at 6 p.m. each day.
Jackson County’s warming center at the county fairgrounds in Pascagoula is open through Monday morning as well. The shelter opens Friday at 5 p.m. and will remain open through Sunday, February 1 at 10 a.m. The shelter will reopen at 5 p.m. and will close Monday, February 2 at 10 a.m.
For Pearl River County residents, the Poplarville and Picayune community saferooms are also open through Monday.
