Cold Weather Shelters Opening in Harrison, Hancock counties

Due to anticipated cold weather conditions, counties are announcing the opening of shelters.

Two shelters will open in Harrison County tonight, and subsequent nights as necessary.

D’Iberville – Kenny Fournier Multipurpose Center – Opens at 4:30 pm • 10395 Automall Parkway, D’Iberville Gulfport

Salvation Army Center of Hope – Opens at 6:00 pm • 2019 22nd Street, Gulfport

In Hancock County, the Emergency Management Agency and Board of Supervisors announced a cold weather warming center opening tonight at 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. and Tuesday night at 6 p.m. until 8 a.m.

The warming center is located at the Emergency Operations Center Building at 18333 HWY 603 Kiln.
The Poplarville Community Saferoom located at 124 Rodeo Street will open at 3:00 PM this afternoon as a warming center and remain open until the dangerous cold has passed. Pets are not allowed, please bring anything you may need (food, water, etc.).
