Cold-weather shelters opening across the Coast

In anticipation of cold-weather conditions, two cold-weather shelters will open Thursday and Friday.

The Kenny Fournier Multipurpose Center in D’Iberville opens Thursday and Friday at 4:30 p.m. That shelter is located at 10395 Automall Parkway.

The Salvation Army Center of Hope Shelter opens Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m. That shelter is located at 2019 22nd Street in Gulfport.

Coast Transit Authority will provide transportation to the D’Iberville Shelter. For more information about sheltering, contact EMA at 228-865-4002.

In Hancock County, the Hancock County Emergency Management Agency, in coordination with the board of supervisors, will open a cold weather shelter Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. That shelter is located at the Emergency Operations Center Building at 18333 Highway 603 in the Kiln.
