Cold weather shelters opening across South Mississippi
With temperatures forecast to drop into the lower to mid 30s overnight, cold weather shelters are opening across South Mississippi.
GULFPORT:
The Salvation Army Area Command Headquarters at 2019 22nd Street in Gulfport.
Doors open at 4:00 p.m. for Cold Weather Shelter clients and close at 10:00 p.m. for lights out. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m. and breakfast will be provided at the shelter. Check out is at 7:00 a.m.
D’IBERVILLE:
Harrison County Multi-purpose (blue) Building, located behind the Jerry Lawrence Memorial Library. The cold weather shelter will open at 5 p.m Thursday in D’Iberville. It will close Friday morning at 7 a.m.
The library’s address is 10391 AutoMall Parkway. The multi-purpose building does not have an address. People needing a ride should report to Seashore Mission at or shortly after 4 p.m.
PASCAGOULA:
The Salvation Army of Jackson County is located at 3217 Nathan Hale Avenue, Pascagoula, MS.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for Cold Weather clients. Dinner and breakfast will be served. Check out is at 6:00 a.m.
