‘Coffee with a Veteran’ held at Biloxi Visitor’s Center
In Biloxi, veterans gathered with the community for coffee and meaningful conversations.
Military One Coast of the Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce hosted “Coffee with a Veteran” at the Biloxi Visitor’s Center.
This event is the first of its kind as veterans and community members discussed and shared experiences exploring various avenues of support for one another.
The Chamber of Commerce says the event’s purpose is to create a platform for learning about available resources to continue fostering a sense of community for those who have served our country.
Chairman of the Military One Coast sector of the chamber Jerry Tartano says the event allows veterans to have one-on-one conversations about the resources available to them.
“It means so much to be able to stand there in front of a person engaging versus trying to find a phone number, or trying to refer them to a source,” said Taranto. “I think this is much more effective, to put them all in a room up and talk to each other. I think it’s a much more richer way to engage that way. ”
