Coastal Family Health Center holds inaugural Community Field Day

It was a day of fun outdoor activities and health education in Biloxi as Coastal Family Health Center held its inaugural Community Field Day.

It was an opportunity for family and friends to come together and get physically active while receiving health information and screenings if needed.

Several different charities and organizations set up shop inside of John Henry Beck Park, consulting with guests and giving away prizes.

Will Stewart from Coastal Family Health Center says events like this are needed. “Your life is centered around your health. There is so much around you life that’s centered around your well-being. If you’re unhealthy, then you can’t be the best you. So, we want to make sure that those resources are accessible. Because having a doctor’s office that you can’t afford or is too far away, it really defeats the purpose of it existing.”

Stewart also says the goal of Coastal Family Health Center is to remove barriers to health care.
