Coast schools preparing for upcoming year
Schools across the Coast are gearing up for a productive school year as registration continues.
Gulfport School District is preparing for their first day this Friday while others are looking forward to starting between next week and the beginning of August.
Teachers are preparing creative learning environments as parents ensure their children are set up for success.
Vancleave Middle School Principal Ashley Allread is looking forward to an exciting school year. “There are exciting things happening all across Jackson County School District right now. We’re under new leadership with Mr. Baggon. We’re anxious to get this year started. Our hallways and classrooms are already busy with movement as we get ready for an exciting school year. We’re ready to see our students. They’re why we do what we do.”
On July 20th, only sixth and ninth grade at Gulfport School District are required to return to school, the rest of the district will go back July 21st.
Moss Point and Pascagoula-Gautier go back July 26th.
In Biloxi, kindergarten and first at Gorenflo only return on July 26th, as well as 5th, 7th, and 9th, the rest are expected on July 27th. Long Beach and Jackson County will return on the 27th as well.
Pass Christian starts on July 28th. Bay St. Louis-Waveland and Hancock return on July 31st. Stone returns on August 3rd. Harrison County returns on August 4th.
