Coast School Mardi Gras Inaugural Parade

Central Elementary students, Coast Episcopal students, and St. Peters by the Sea ‘Casting Nets’ after school program are collaborating on a second line parade next week.

The Coast Episcopal School band will provide music for the walking parade at St. Peter’s by the Sea Episcopal Church for students at Central Elementary and the Casting Nets after school program.

Approximately 20 ‘Casting Net’ students are going to be featured in the walking parade along with volunteers.

Those students will be pacing the streets with floats made out of boxes as music is played and beads are thrown. Rev. Patrick Sanders said, “Mardi Gras is such a big deal. These kids love it and the Coast Episcopal kids love it. This church loves it. It’s a way to sort of celebrate that season while also celebrating these kids that come every week.”

The Coast Parade starts at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 15th at St. Peters by the Sea Episcopal Church.
