Coast residents enjoy good BBQ at Grillin’ on the Green in Biloxi

Saturday’s block party ‘Grillin’ on the Green’ featured a barbecue cook-off, art vendors, and plenty of live bands to keep the party rocking after the parade.

The smell of seafood, brisket, ribs, and other delicacies filled the air drawing in hundreds of people to the Biloxi Town Green.

Conveniently located next to the parade, those attending the festivities were able to catch beads and enjoy a hot plate.

The event also featured one of the best pitmasters in the world. 1776 BBQ Pitmaster Charles Dabbs said, “This will be my fourth year coming to Grillin’ on the Green. I really, really like this event. We travel all over the country doing these events. This is one of my favorites. It’s right here at home. I’m from Long Beach and it feels good to win in your backyard.”

Charles was this year’s Grillin’ on the Green grand champion and the 2022 SCA Shed Showdown first place finisher in the pork category.
