Local nonprofit “Mississippi Heroes” plans to take their organization on the water to celebrate First Responders on October 22nd for their inaugural Halloween Cruise.

This event is free to First Responders and their families as a way to honor the services the provide the community.

The Gulf Islander will leave at Friday, October 22 at 6 p.m. from the Ship Island dock and return about 8:30 p.m.

There will be music, food in part sponsored by Waitr, and drinks provided.  Costumes are encouraged and there are still a few spots left.

Those interested in attending can sign up on Eventbrite:  1st Responders Halloween Cruise, or on the Mississippi Heroes Facebook page.  For any questions, email MississippiHeroes@gmail.com.

Mississippi Heroes says businesses are encouraged to sponsor or donate to help recognize local first responders for the invaluable service they provide.

To nominate a Professional or Family Caregiver as a “Mississippi Hero,” go to the nomination form on their website:  www.MississippiHeroes.org.  A Mississippi Hero can be nominated by family, friends, businesses, or any member of the community to receive a day of fun specifically tailored for them.  Our hope is that our program will grow so that all of our caregiver nominees who fit the nomination criteria may one day be awarded for their selfless acts of love.
