Coast man sentenced to life for sex crimes involving children

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A Pass Christian man will spend life behind bars after pleading guilty to sex crimes involving children.

Seventy-two-year-old RJ Sanders was facing four counts of sexual battery and was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences.

Sanders sexually assaulted children between the years of 2013 and 2021 in Pass Christian and Gulfport.

Prosecutors say Sanders was entrusted with the care of the victims while the children’s parents were at work.

Sanders will serve his sentence in MDOC custody.
