Coast man convicted on drug charges

Mccormick

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A Biloxi man is facing 40 years behind bars in a drug trafficking case.

Fifty-five-year-old Andrew McCormick was convicted on two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent after a three-day trial in Harrison County last week.

The case began with a traffic stop in November 2021, when Biloxi police pulled McCormick over for speeding near Caillavet and Division streets.

A search of his car uncovered crack cocaine, marijuana, and multiple bags of synthetic drugs, some hidden in McCormick’s clothing and others inside his car.

Investigators testified the quantity and packaging were consistent with drug distribution.

McCormick’s sentencing is set for March 19.
