Coast Electric scheduling outages to work on upgrades

Some citizens in D’Iberville will have their power cut off for an extended period Thursday morning.

Originally Coast Electric’s scheduled outage was for Wednesday. The outage has since been postponed to January 18th due to the cold temperatures.

The outage will affect areas between Lamey Bridge Road and Highway 15.

Coast Electric will turn off power from 8 a.m. until noon to make changes to electrical facilities.

Power lines will need to be de-energized to accomplish the work.

The full list of roads affected are:

  • 15
  • Coventry Estates Blvd
  • Deer Creek Dr.
  • Janus Rd.
  • Quail Creek Cove
  • Quail Creek Circle
  • Landing Court
  • Camelot Dr.
  • Haversham Place
  • Winsor Place
  • Winsor Cove
  • Avondale Circle
  • Windmill Ridge Pkwy.
  • Fairbury Way
  • Woodmanse Way

  • Pin Wheel Court

April Lollar, director of communications, shared a statement on the reasoning for the scheduled outage and warns residents to dress in warm clothing if you stay home.

Lollar says upgrading the capacity of the electrical distribution in the area is necessary.

The upgrades will create a more reliable system for current and future members of the electrical company.

Lollar recommends that residents who stay home do not bump up their heat when the power comes back on.
