Coast Electric Power hosts Food Trucks for a Cause

Today in Gulfport, you could buy a lunch that gives back. Food Trucks for a Cause was hosted by Coast Electric Power as a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.

Seven food truck vendors gathered outside Coast Electric on Highway 49 from 11 a.m. until all the food was gone.

As a sponsor of the Gulf Coast Heart Walk, Coast Electric decided to put on this event for the community and their employees to enjoy.

Those who participated were entered into a raffle for a basket giveaway. American Heart Association Development Director Taji Kirkland said, “They decided to put this event together to benefit the Heart Association and got to be a part of their fundraising. The Gulf Coast Heart Walk is actually next Saturday, October 2nd. We will have a pop-up start line at Jones Park starting at 9 a.m. and a pop-up start line at the town green for people to come out and walk. Bring your friends and family.”

Many people came out to support by 1 p.m. One of the food trucks had already sold out.
