Coast author releases new book

A Coast author is out with a new book for young girls aimed at celebrating the power of being unique.

Moss Point native Lane Bird celebrated the release of her book ‘Unique’ with a book signing at Barnes and Noble in Gulfport.

Bird decided to publish the book when she discovered a co-worker owned Gemlight Publishing, a local publishing company.

She hopes ‘Unique’ inspires girls to achieve their dreams and love the things that make them one-of-a-kind. “I need them to be encouraged. I need them to be empowered. I need them to know that they can do anything, anything that they put their minds to.”

‘Unique’ can be purchased online at major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Barnes and Noble, as well as Gemlight Publishing’s website.
