Coast athletes show out at MHSAA Track and Field State Championships

Tons of talented track and field stars from the Gulf Coast taking home the gold in last week’s MHSAA state championships, starting with Gulfport’s Mallory Streetman.

The Mississippi State signee won gold in the girls 800 meter and the girls 4 by 400 relay, alongside Ole Miss soccer signee Kate Smith, Southern Miss soccer commit Abby Badurak, and Lania McDonald.

Biloxi High showing out as well with Gracyn Yelverton and Shaneal Corpuz winning individual golds as well as the boys 4 by 400-meter relay team.

In the 5A ranks, former News 25 Student Athlete of the Week Brooklyn Biancamano adding to her record stockpile of medals in the 3200, 1600, and 800-meter runs.

Over at George County, Mississippi State football signee Marquez Dortch winning the boys long jump alongside two-time gold medal winner Janelle Bradshaw.

In the 4A ranks, William Carey signee Tyeese Smith out of Stone taking home the gold as well as Bay High’s Terron Bedford and Pass Christian’s Thomas Carter.

Another News 25 Student Athlete of the Week, St. Stanislaus distance runner Keegan Leverett winning the 3200, 1600, and 800 meter runs.

Fellow Rock-a-Chaw Ryan Tyler getting atop the podium for discus as well as OLA’s Emily Reinke for high jump.

Four golds for St. Patrick for the boys 4 by 800 meter relay and then individual medals by Hunter Lorenzo, Anna Katherine Thriffiley, and Mason Rhea.
