Civil Rights champion Annie Devine honored with Trail Marker
A trail marker was unveiled in the state to honor a champion of Civil Rights.
A marker was unveiled on February 25th for Annie Devine of Canton. That unveiling took place at the city’s high school auditorium.
Devine was a state Freedom Democratic Party Delegate to the 1964 Democratic National Convention. This marker commemorates Devine’s commitment to voting rights and accessible education and healthcare.
The marker will be installed on the grounds of the Madison County Courthouse.
