Civil action filed against Diamondhead City Councilman Alan Moran involving minor

A civil lawsuit filed today in Hancock County, involving the family of a 17-year-old, names Diamondhead City Councilman Alan Moran and the businesses he manages, Philip’s Pest Control Company and A&M Spray Foam Insulation.

There are numerous counts in the complaint, including battery and assault, false imprisonment, emotional distress, neglect, and several others.

Moran was arrested in February on charges of simple assault causing bodily injury and contributing to the delinquency of a child.

The arrest report says the 17-year-old agreed to work for Moran. He allegedly gave the juvenile beer and touched him on his genitals and inner thigh.

The report says the teen asked Moran to stop, but the councilman allegedly persisted.

That’s when the teen text his parents, who called the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department. News 25 has been told the teen’s parents actually detained Moran in the Kiln until deputies arrived.
