City of Moss Point Still Looking for Police Chief
It looks like the City of Moss Point will have to wait a little longer to see who will be its next police chief. Earlier in the week, the city’s board of alderman decided to not make a final decision on who will be city’s next chief.
Alderman James Smith made a motion to hold all current applications and to re-open the search process.
The aldermen say they have a large number of applicants, but would like to see an even larger applicant pool to compare and select from.
Former Police Chief Art McClung was forced to resign after dash-cam footage was released of him being pulled over for speeding and admittedly driving under the influence.
The City of Moss Point has had seven police chiefs since 2000.
