City of Wiggins sees major community development wins during 2022

Since the beginning of 2022, business has been booming in Wiggins and today that trend only continues.

So far this year, the City of Wiggins has introduced nine new businesses to the town including restaurants, medical practices, stores, and more.

With those businesses already in action, the city continues to see a major boom with 16 more businesses either currently under construction or moving locations.

Currently in the planning stages are the completion of a portion of legacy drive for an Arby’s and CTE building, a new building for Skinner’s Florist, a new law office, and a new photography business. Wiggins Mayor Darrell Berry said, “It means a lot. For one, they entrusted in me to move this city forward, and with the new businesses coming in, I think they’re satisfied with it, and we’re working as hard as we can to continue to promote Wiggins and Stone County.”

Three businesses even received $50,000 façade grants with even more businesses receiving some on August 30th.
