City of Pass Christian officials address 2022-2023 Financial Audit Summary

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Pass Christian is addressing the findings from its 2022-2023 financial audit.

In a statement released Wednesday, city officials say the audit released in an adverse opinion, meaning the city’s financial records did not accurately reflect its financial condition.

The city says the audit was delayed while officials reviewed and corrected old financial records.

Since then, the city has brought back an experienced finance director, hired a senior accountant, and strengthened financial oversight.

Officials warn the next audit could reveal similar problems, but say changes have been made to prevent future issues.
