City of Pascagoula Hosts Adventure Camp

Kayaking, geo-caching, hiking and more: it’s all part of the city of Pascagoula’s outdoor adventure camp.
Today, campers ages 13-16 explored the Pascagoula River on kayaks. They learned safety tips and even experienced a mock rescue mission. They also go to hold and learn about local snakes and alligators. The city says it’s all about being outdoors and letting local kids learn more about Pascagoula’s natural environment.
Camper Hayden Portwine said, “Yesterday and today, we did kayaking. Today, we did a big trip. I think we paddled around like four or five miles. It is real fun and I want to come back next year.”
The adventure camp is fully booked but the city of Pascagoula does offer regular kayaking classes open to the public. Just visit their website at cityofpascagoula.com for more information.
