City of Pascagoula Begins Phase III of Ingalls Avenue Construction

Ingalls Ave

PASCAGOULA, Miss. – The third phase of Ingalls Avenue construction is scheduled to resume the week of July 25th for road and infrastructure improvements on the section of Ingalls Avenue from just west of Market Street to the drainage ditch 300 feet east of Market Street.

The Contractor will resume removal of existing infrastructure in preparation for installing new infrastructure.

The project consists of replacing water mains, storm drains, sidewalks, and the roadway as well as lining the sewers. Ingalls Avenue will be repaved, and new ADA compliant sidewalks will be put in.

Construction for the third and final phase of the Ingalls Avenue Road Improvements is projected to be complete in November 2022.

Most of the construction will involve closing some lanes and leaving some lanes open, however, on occasion the entire width of the street may have to be closed for a few hours.

The contractor will occasionally do some work at night to limit traffic disruption across Market Street.

The contractor will provide 48 hours advance notice if the entire street will have to be closed, along with detour routes.

Access for residents and businesses on the affected section of Ingalls will generally be maintained with the Contractor coordinating with each business if access across their drive must be temporarily closed.

Motorists, residents and businesses are asked for their patience while construction is ongoing.
