City of Ocean Springs Celebrates Renovations and Improvements for Gay Lemon Park

Ocean Springs, MS – The City of Ocean Springs is thrilled to announce the reopening of Gay Lemon Park, a community space designed to provide a welcoming environment for all residents.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 18 at 10:30 a.m., and the public is invited to join in the celebration.
Mayor Kenny Holloway, the Board of Aldermen, and other city officials will be present to officially reopen the park, which features new fencing, dugouts, lighting, and more.

About Gay Lemon Park:
Gay Lemon Park is a 10-acre property that has been a dedicated park and athletic field complex following the donation to the city by Le Moyne Et Associe’, Inc. in December 1973. Named after J.C. “Champ” Gay and J.K. Lemon, this property can only be used for public outdoor recreation.
The park includes:
- New fencing
- New dugouts
- Interior restroom renovations
- Backstop netting
- Batting Cages
- Parking Lot Improvements
- Connective Sidewalks
- New Lighting
The $837,500 project is funded through the Land and Water Conservation Fund, Administered by the National Park Service U.S Department of the Interior and the City of Ocean Springs.
