City of Ocean Springs adopting new building codes

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Ocean Springs announces they have officially adopted the 2024 International Building Code and the 2024 Residential Code.

Effective July 6, all building permits issued by the city will be received and inspected under these codes. Permits issued before this date will be inspected using the 2018 guidelines.

These codes reflect the latest standards for building safety, construction practices.

Contractors, homeowners, and design professionals are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new requirements.
