City of Lucedale seeing water service shut off

Lucedale, Miss. (WXXV)- Water service will be shut off for the entire city of Lucedale on August 18th.

The water department is shutting off water starting at 11 Monday night until 5 Tuesday morning.

This is being done so crews can make repairs to multiple fire hydrants at once.

City officials say a boil water notice will be in effect after service is restored.

The notice stays in effect until water tests confirm it is safe to drink.

Residents are advised to store water ahead of the outage.

City officials also saying slight discoloration after service returns is normal, residents should run cold water to clear it.
