City of Gulfport recognized at Mississippi Municipal League annual conference
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- The Mississippi Municipal League wrapped up its 95th annual conference Wednesday on the Coast by recognizing cities and municipal leaders across the state.
Some of our Coast cities received recognition at the awards ceremony.
Among this year’s Municipal Excellence Award winners was the City of Gulfport. The Gulfport Fire Department was honored for partnering with Gulfport High to create a hands-on law and public safety program that gives students a look at careers in emergency services while teaching civic responsibility.
The award recognizes cities for innovative programs that improve the quality of life for residents.
The annual event is scheduled to return to the Coast next year.
