City of Gulfport public hearing regarding proposal to reallocate $2.8 million in CDBG Funds
There’s a public hearing in Gulfport tonight to address a proposal to reallocate community development block grants.
The city is proposing reallocating $2.8 million of CDBG money to a new project identified as the ‘quarters historic minority business district and empowerment zone.’
According to the public notice on the city’s website, the federal dollars would be used for infrastructure to make improvements to streets, drainage, sidewalks, lighting, and landscaping.
That is one of three items on tonight’s agenda.
City leaders will also be talking about funding for the home program and funding from the American Rescue Plan Act.
Tonight’s public hearing begins at 6 at Gulfport City Hall.
