City of Gulfport implementing mask mandate in public buildings

The City of Gulfport will implement mask requirements for employees and visitors to all public buildings within the city.

“With tracking data, input from medical professionals, and members of our city family contracting the virus, it is prudent to implement these requirements at this time, in an effort to help mitigate the further spread of this disease,” said Mayor Billy Hewes.

Private businesses are encouraged to take steps to protect their employees and the public from the spread of this contagion.  Individuals are encouraged to mask up and roll up for vaccinations when and where possible.

This mask mandate, which applies to indoor city facilities, is effective today starting at 5:00 p.m. and will be reevaluated on a weekly basis.
