City of Gulfport Asking for Flood Reports
The City of Gulfport is asking everyone that experienced flooding from last week’s rainfall to report it.
Currently, there are 50 flooded homes, over 10 flooded businesses and 70 flooded streets in Gulfport reported. The city tells News 25 the reports will help them work on drainage plans for future improvements. Gulfport Public Information Officer Chris Vignes tells News 25 it is vital for the city to know where the most flooding happened, so Gulfport can be more prepared for any amount of rain that comes our way. “Friday we experienced more rain than we could handle as a city and as a Coast. So, what we’re doing now is accessing the damage and putting together plans so we can better plan for the future and also get information from this past storm.”
Officials are asking residents to call city hall if they have sustained any damage. That number is 228-868-5700.
