City of Gautier holds Christmas tree lighting

The City of Gautier capped off its holiday celebrations tonight with the lighting of the Christmas tree at city hall.

Gautier High School’s choir and two band members performed Christmas carols ahead of Mayor Casey Vaughan flipping the switch.

The Christmas tree features ornaments with city council and city employee names on them to show appreciation.

Gautier also debuted its newest Christmas decorations, a giant lit ‘Merry Christmas’ sign and ornament, perfect for taking pictures in front of.  Mayor Vaughan said, “People go to communities to see their decorations. All of our sister cities have beautiful decorations. We wanted our citizens to be proud of something. So, here in Gautier I hope they’re proud of our new Christmas decorations to promote the city and the holiday season.”

Mayor Vaughan welcomes everyone to snap a picture with the new display or to bring their family. The lights turn on every day at dusk.
