City of Gautier declares State of Emergency

GAUTIER, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Gautier is also declaring a local state of emergency due to severe weather as well.

Mayor Casey Vaughan has declared the emergency.

The city warns this storm system could bring heavy rainfall, damaging winds, potential tornado activity, and hazardous travel conditions.

The city is coordinating with the Jackson County government.

Residents are encouraged to stay weather aware, secure outdoor items, have emergency supplies ready and monitor weather sources.
