City of D’Iberville receives funds from MDOT for sidewalk project
D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WXXV)- The Mississippi Department of Transportation has earmarked 1.14 million dollars in transportation funds for the City of D’Iberville.
The funding will go towards building sidewalks along D’Iberville Boulevard.
City leaders say this project will create a continuous, five-foot-wide sidewalk from Lamey Bridge Road to Automall Parkway, one that crosses I-110.
It will also link some of city’s residential neighborhoods with the Promenade and other shopping and dining locations along D’Iberville Boulevard.
City Manager Bobby Weaver says the project will enhance public safety.
The city will work with MDOT on project development as well as the design and bidding process.
Weaver is hoping that maybe within the next 12 months they can be out for bid and begin working towards construction.
