City of D’Iberville cuts the ribbon on phase 4 improvements on Popp’s Ferry Road

The City of D’Iberville cut the ribbon on the Popp’s Ferry Road phase 4 improvements project.

The $3.7 million project includes a new asphalt road from Galleria Parkway to west of Nance Street, complete with curbs, gutters, sidewalks, sub-surface drainage, and utilities, lighting and installation of traffic signals.

There are still two phases in the project west of this area to tie into Biloxi city limits.

Once the ribbon was cut this morning, the barricades were moved and the road was open to the public.  D’Iberville City Manager Bobby Weaver said, “It’s just a great day for the City of D’Iberville. It creates access to a lot of undeveloped land right now that we think is going to materialize. We would be tremendously blessed if the Sports Illustrated project comes in, which is kind of programmed to come in behind us. So, we are just waiting on final word if that is going to happen.”

Back in June 2022, it was announced that the 78 acre Sports Illustrated Resort ‘Blue Water Beach’ would be built on what was originally going to be the site of the Gulf Coast Galleria Shopping Center.
