City of D’Iberville collecting donations for Hurricane Isaias victims

D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of D’Iberville is stepping up to help those impacted by Hurricane Isaias by collecting and transporting much needed relief donations.

Community members can drop off supplies at D’Iberville Fire Station One, located on Lamey Bridge Road. The city is accepting items including bottled water, baby diapers and wipes, cleaning supplies, protective gloves, non-perishable food, and dry dog and cat food.

Donations can be dropped off daily from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The city says no clothing or furniture will be accepted.

The effort is aimed at getting essential supplies to those who need them most as they recover from the storm. D’Iberville City Manager Bobby Weaver said, “For us it’s about really giving back. We experienced the generosity of America after Katrina and we haven’t forgotten that so every time there is a circumstance of someone being affected by some type of disaster, we always do what we can to try express our compassion for helping a fellow man. It’s a great opportunity for us to do this and allow the population, our residents to come in and pitch in a little bit and then we carry all of that goodwill with us when we go down and visit with the group.”
