City of Biloxi to move forward with new MGCCC entrance
This afternoon, the Biloxi City Council met to discuss the future of the Harrison County Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s new entry way.
The new entrance will come from Pass Road to Eula Street. It utilizes a street light and roundabout, which has drawn concern from people living in the area who fear it will only make traffic worse.
Despite that, the plan was passed in a 6-1 vote.
MGCCC will continue to work on their plans for the new entrance.
Vice President Cedric Bradley says the college is working to make the best decision they can. “Well, we continue to explore everything. We work with our engineers, and our engineers come and they give us their recommendations on what’s going to be in the best interest of the traffic situation. And we take their recommendations and we move forward with those.”
The city will now move forward with the plan to sign a contract with the Mississippi Department of Transportation before construction begins.
