City of Biloxi planning for spring break
The City of Biloxi is implementing traffic plans for spring breakers.
The two inside lanes of Highway 90 will be closed for emergency vehicles, while the two outside lanes will remain open for travelers.
Biloxi Police Chief John Miller says the traffic plans are the safest option for travelers, but expects bumper to bumper traffic. Additional police officers and other personnel are needed for this event.
Cecilia Dobbs Walton with the City of Biloxi said, “This plan is nothing new. You have seen this in the past. What this plan is doing, last year when we had spring break, we had so many people in one location on Highway 90 in Biloxi. This traffic plan is going to allow emergency vehicles to move more freely throughout the event.”
Spring breakers are encouraged to park at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum to enjoy the festivities.
