Church safety and active shooter response seminar
Tonight, the Gulfport Ecumenical Fellowship hosted a church safety and active shooter response seminar.
The event was held at Westminster Presbyterian Church and was open to all Coast churches and church leaders. The purpose of tonight’s event was to learn about church security, active shooter response planning, and working with local law enforcement during an active shooter situation. The seminar was led by Lt. Paul Podlin with the Gulfport Police Department.
According to recent statistics, churches are the third most likely target for an act of mass violence.
