Christopher Epps Requests Release

Mississippi’s former Corrections Commissioner is asking a Federal Judge to reconsider the decision to jail him. In a motion filed Tuesday, Christopher Epps asks U.S. District Judge Henry T. Wingate to release him until his May 24th sentencing. Wingate revoked Epps’ bail Nov. 4 after Epps was charged with stealing outdoor lights and a control box from his former house. Epps’ lawyer argues Wingate could set conditions, assuring Epps would appear for sentencing and not threaten community safety.
