Christmas in the Point toy giveaway this weekend in Gulfport

A group of local organizations are coming together to make sure no kids go without this Christmas season.

Organizations such as Extend a Hand, Help a Friend, Dad’s Super Pawn, Mississippi Power, and more got together to purchase hundreds of toys.

This Saturday, December 18th, the organizations will come together at the Gaston Point Community Center in Gulfport to give away these collected toys to children along the Coast. The drive will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents are asked to remain in their cars as the gifts will be brought to the vehicles. Extend a Hand, Help a Friend CEO Jeffrey Hulum III said, “The biggest part is about the community unity. The community unity, especially when you partner with personnel organizations like the city of Gulfport, Dad’s Super Pawn, to show that they come inside the community, to show that we are one community; we are one collective body. It’s all about the youth. It’s all about letting the kids being a part of the Christmas spirit no matter what their walk of life is.”

The drive will be on a first-come, first-serve basis so make sure to get there in time.
