Choppin’ with Twelve at Southern Gents’ Men’s Hair Salon

Today the Southern Gents’ Men’s Hair Salon in Gulfport was more than just a place for a haircut.

The Gulfport Police Department came by the salon for the Choppin’ with Twelve event. The event was from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sonic provided lunch and dessert was provided by Jelly Donuts and Kolaches.

People were encouraged to come by and be apart of a great conversation. Barber Joshua Millet said, “It went well. Sonic sponsored some food. The donut shop across the street sponsored some donuts. They came in and spoke with everybody about what they do, what they do in the community. Just with talking to people in the barbershop, getting some insight on the what they think they should change in the police department. Just some ideas from different people in the community. So, it went well. They were all really nice. We enjoyed it. It was a great time.”

Millet also says that despite the negative outlook law enforcement gets, the community meet up shows how friendly Gulfport police are socializing with everyone.
