Charges Dropped in Hot Car Child Death in Grenada, MS

Murder charges have been dropped for a father who was jailed for leaving his daughter in a hot car, resulting in her death.
Joshua Blunt was jailed and originally charged with second-degree murder after he said he forgot his daughter was in the car when he went to work last week.
Blunt’s attorney argued Blunt was wrongfully jailed, especially when, in a similar case just a few weeks ago, a white woman was not charged after she also left her baby in the car and that child died.
Blunt was released from jail yesterday. Today, the prosecutor’s office decided not to move forward with charges.
