Charged with aggravated assault in Biloxi

On Saturday, February 10, 2024 around 8:09 pm, a Biloxi Police Officer was patrolling the 2000 block of Pass Road when two unknown males were in the middle of the roadway, impeding traffic.
Upon attempting to make contact, one subject, later identified as 21-year-old Darrell Desmond Williams of Gulfport, immediately fled the scene, prompting the officer to detain the second person, 20-year-old Charles Keyvin Fountain of Gulfport.
As the officer was dealing with Fountain, Williams returned back to the scene. The officer shifted his focus to Williams in an attempt to detain him as well. While doing so, Fountain was able to remove a handgun from his clothing and stand up. He later pointed the gun in the direction of Williams and the officer, resulting in the officer discharging his duty weapon at him. Fountain surrendered and was contacted again once additional officers arrived on scene.
As a result of the incident, Fountain was charged with Aggravated Assault. It was later discovered that he was out on bond in reference to two counts of Aggravated Assault through the City of Gulfport. As a result, Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain issued no bond. Fountain was later transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and booked.
Williams was charged with disorderly conduct and was later released on bond. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
