Charged with felony eluding in Biloxi

Shortly after 11 last night, a Gulfport man led police on a high speed chase through residential neighborhoods.

Police say 44-year-old Elwyn Smith led officers on a chase that ended at the dead end of Rustwood Drive after he drove through the yards of two homes. He fled into the wooded area in the neighborhood and was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

Smith was charged with felony eluding and taken to the Harrison County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
