Charged with auto burglary

Biloxi police arrested a homeless man accused of stealing items from a vehicle while the owner was asleep inside the car.

The auto burglary happened at a hotel located in the 1700 block of Beach Boulevard. According to police, 39-year-old Michael Owens gained entry to the vehicle through an unlocked door. The victim, who was in the car at the time, woke up as the suspect was removing property from the vehicle.

Owens was taken to the Harrison County Jail with a bond set at $25,000.
