Chapel Hart returns to Poplarville for free concert at PRCC
Chapel Hart made their return to their hometown of Poplarville over the weekend where they put on a free concert at Pearl River Community College. WXXV sat down with them to talk about their return home.
Trea Swindle said, “There’s absolutely nothing like the feeling of coming back home, especially after being on the road for so long and literally going around the world, being able to come back home to Mississippi. It’s almost like the best way to recharge your batteries before going back out. The end of last year we kind of we went live online, and we kind of shared our feelings about like pulling back from the industry and kind of like going back to the thing, the things that got us started and like giving back to people, bringing music to people who can’t necessarily come out to see shows, and I feel like this is probably the best way we could have imagined to do that.”
Danica Hart said, “I think it’s kind of hard to make an announcement to say that you want to try to step away from the industry things that kind of keep you from being able to go visit nursing homes and VAs and schools.”
Devynn Hart said, “Any time we get to perform in Mississippi or Louisiana, it is always such a different vibe but especially when we play in Poplarville like coming back to where it all started for us, getting to see like your teachers, your friends from school, like that is just one of the coolest feelings in the world and it just feels like a like a reunion almost.”
“I think that our last performance here was a Blueberry Jubilee. And so, it’s we are well overdue. So, you know our, I think our plan and our hope is to at least do one show a year. And so, we really want to pass that message this weekend. And that’s it, you know, for all the dreamers out there, keep dreaming because dreams do come true. And we’re proof of that. And, also just to just to show people that you know that you may come from a small town, but the world is yours.”
