Changes to Picayune Athletic events announced

PICAYUNE, Miss. (WXXV)- Picayune Athletics made a few announcements on social media on Tuesday.

Due to the events around the state of Mississippi, Picayune School District has chosen to cancel all tailgating events on school district property for the 2025 season.

They’ve also announced, effective immediately, the school district will be implementing a clear bag policy at all after-school athletic and performing arts events.

According to a social media post, visitors may bring in one clear bag or one gallon plastic bag, along with a small clutch for privacy.

All persons and packages are subject to search upon entry. Failure to consent or submit to inspection will result in denial of entry.
