Chandeleur Brewing getting into World Cup — for a cause

People gathered across the U.S. yesterday to watch the U.S. men’s soccer team compete in the World Cup… For the first time in eight years.

Chandeleur Island Brewing Company in Gulfport had a watch party of their own and even opened early to make sure people had plenty of time to get settled.

While the match was being played, Chandeleur donated one dollar from every pint of beer sold to CASA of Harrison and Stone counties.

The mission of CASA is to provide specially selected and trained community volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the pursuit of safe and permanent homes.

“Chandeleur was already a supporter of CASA and so I asked them if they would be willing to extend their support during the three U.S. World Cup first-round matches and they agreed,” said CASA Board Member John Fitzhugh.” I get to have my fun and other people get to join in and help a worthy cause.”

Chandeleur Island Brewing Company will continue the fundraising for the second and third U.S. games on Friday at 1 p.m. and Tuesday at 1 p.m. on FOX.
