Center Stage in Biloxi undergoing renovations

Center Stage in Biloxi is expanding and sprucing up thanks to a Fine Arts Grant and generous donations.

The entire front porch will become a lobby area to accommodate large crowds.

Center Stage is also making their bathrooms larger so they are ADA accessible. The building was converted into a theatre in 1975 and is no longer up to code. This maintenance is needed for the theatre.

Center Stage received a grant of $105,000, but the renovation will be double that amount. Chairman of the Board Kennedy Miazza said, “If anyone has been to a show at CenterStage, and experienced the size of our lobby, they know how much this is needed. I mean, when there’s inclimate weather, and we’re all packed in here like sardines waiting for the doors to open. Now, hopefully, that is not going to be a situation any longer because it is going to be much more spacious.”

Center Stage will be hosting a summer musical fundraiser and is accepting donations at centerstagebiloxi.org.
