Celebration of Life for Gautier teens

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday morning for two Gautier teens killed in an early December car wreck.

Somber hearts filed into Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast Church to remember and honor the lives of Sed’hari Watson Person and Kyla O’Neal Watkins.

One by one, family members, friends, and community went down the aisle to pay their respects.

Many who spoke at the ceremony say the two teens were inseparable and their impact on the community will never be forgotten.

“From what I’ve learned about Sed’hari Watson and Kyla Watkins they were both full of hope, they loved one another, they loved their families, they loved their Gautier High School family, and they loved their Gulf Coast Community and they loved their community.”

“And know that the main thing, I learned from both of these girls and our community is that togetherness. And when we get to where they are, when we get to where we’re meant to go, they’re going to be waiting together.”

“Me and Sed’hari were best friends throughout my childhood growing up and year after year was so fun. From skating rinks, to graduations, I made sure that I was there. And when I said she was the most genuine friend I ever had, the most genuine friend.”

The girls were Gautier High graduates and students at MGCCC’s Perkinston campus at the time of their deaths.

The school asks the community to continue praying for the third victim, Tatyanna Richmond, as she is still being treated for serious injuries.
